The Portrait Process
Marjorie works from photographs and sittings by the subject. The initial photo session is done with a digital camera either on location or in her studio. This session takes approximately two hours to complete. She does a preliminary sketch during this session also.
Marjorie works from these photos and the preliminary sketch to develop a small idea sketch for the client to approve. Once the portrait is underway, she may require sittings which will be arranged at the client’s convenience.
Portrait cost is determined by the portion of the figure in the painting rather than the painting size. Travel and related expenses are additional charges.
