The portrait cost is determined by the portion of the figure in the painting rather than the painting size.
PORTRAITS IN OIL. Head and Shoulders-$2500. 3/4 Figure-$5000. Full Length-$7500.
Payment Schedule-A 30% payment deposit is requested with the signing of the contract and establishes a place on the artist’s waiting list/calendar. The final two thirds plus the tax on the whole, is paid at the time of delivery. Additional Figures and Pets will add to the price and this can be discussed at the initial session.
Oil Portraits are done on Linen or Panel. I work from photographs and sittings by the subject if necessary. I can use digital photos provided by the client if they have enough information for me or I may photograph at your location. I may do a preliminary sketch during this session also. I work from these photos and the preliminary sketch to develop a small idea sketch for the client to approve. Once the portrait is underway, I may require sittings which will be arranged at the client’s convenience. Prices listed do not include frames.
